VEGEGRAIN MACARONI

Ingredients

2 sachet (30g) OS Nourishing VegeGrain Meal
1 handful Macaroni
1000ml Water

Method
1. Bring 500-700ml water to boil
2. Add macaroni and let it cook through for about 5 minutes
3. Drain and put aside
4. Add about 300 ml of hot water to 1 sachet of OS Nourishing VegeGrain Meal
5. Mix well, add the macaroni, and let it seep for about 1 minute
6. Serve hot

Depending on preferred taste, can add the following in Step 5 above

  • A few pieces of pre-boiled Chinese Yam – source of phyto-hormone to control blood sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cleaned, dried Chinese Goji Berry – good for the eyes & a source of iron for those who are anaemic
  • 1 piece of dried seaweed torn into smaller pieces – rich in iron, omega-3 & trace minerals

For those who prefers baked snacks

  • Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese on a bowl of VegeGrain Macaroni
  • Bake for about 3-5 minutes or till cheese turns slightly brown
  • Dish and serve hot

For a light meal of soup

  • Prepare a cup of VegeGrain Meal as per recipe above
  • Butter a piece of wholemeal bread
  • Toast for about 2-3 minutes
  • Dip into the VegeGrain Meal Soup for a light meal or snack

Tips
A great-tasting low-calorie and diabetic-friendly light meal or snack
For those on a weight loss journey, replace dinner with a cup of VegeGrain Macaroni instead of the full rice and dishes dinner
